It’s October and the beginning of Breast Cancer Awareness Month! It’s important to bring awareness to this disease and the importance of early detection. I have several friends who have survived breast cancer, but I have also lost a friend too. So, if you are over 40 and have never had a mammogram, please take the time to schedule an appointment. If you have no insurance and live here in Georgia, visit www.eastgeorgiacancer.org for information on health care facilities that provide free mammograms. Remember, early detection saves lives and wear something pink!
